Compaq Presario V3908 Windows XP Drivers
One of my friend bought Compaq Presario V3908 a few days ago, he has some question about it...

A : Yesterday I bought Compaq V3908, it has no OS can I install Windows XP on it?
B : Yes you can
A : ?? I already tried to install windows XP but Windows XP can't detect HDD ???
B : go to BIOS and change sata mode to IDE mode
A : ok, wait a minute...
A : there is no option about change sata mode in BIOS... what should I do?
B : you should insert ahci driver to Windows XP CD using nLite read this

B : yes you can, since your Compaq Presario V3908 has Intel 965 as motherboard chipset,
i think the sata controller is exactly the same and you can use this driver

note from HP website :
Unzip to a folder..make note of location.
From Device Manager,right click "Audio Device on High Def Bus",choose Update driver,
No to connect,
Install from a list or specific location,
Select Don't Search, I will choose the driver to install,
For the Hardware Type select 'Show All Devices'
Remove the check from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk".
Next...browse to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".
Ignore XP when it complains.
Reboot.
Quick Launch button driver (Download)
note : you must install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 (Download) before install Quick Launch.
It's hard to find win XP drivers for this laptop.. but I promise will update the driver list
